Free Coverage Analysis Calculators

Compare policies on what they actually cost, not what they quote

Five tools that combine premium, deductible and limit into figures you can rank: expected annual cost, break-even on a deductible change, the size of a coverage gap, and what a specific claim would leave you paying.

Coverage Analyzer

Compare up to three policies on the total cost of being insured, combining the premium with the share of a claim each one leaves with you.

This is an estimate based on the values you entered. Actual premiums, coverage, eligibility and pricing vary by provider and by individual circumstances.

Expected annual cost adds the premium to the share of a typical claim you would pay yourself, weighted by how often you expect to claim. It is a planning comparison, not a prediction.

A policy is more than its price. Check exclusions, claim service, endorsements and the financial strength of the carrier before switching.

Insurance is quoted as a price and bought as a structure. Two policies at the same premium can leave you in completely different positions once the deductible, the coinsurance share and the coverage limit are applied to a real claim.

These tools do the arithmetic that a quote sheet leaves out. None of them can tell you which carrier settles claims well - nothing can, from numbers alone - but they will tell you which offer is genuinely cheaper once the structure is taken into account.

Comparison

Put competing policies onto one comparable scale.

Why use InsuranceCoverageTools

One comparable number

Expected annual cost combines the premium with the share of a claim each policy leaves with you, so three offers can be ranked on the same basis.

The order of operations, applied properly

Deductible first, coinsurance on the remainder, the limit above it. Getting that sequence right changes the answer substantially.

Multi-year projection

Introductory pricing wins year one. The comparison tool projects both policies forward so you can see when the cheaper one changes.

Assumptions stated, never hidden

Every tool lists what it does and what it deliberately ignores, so you can judge whether the result fits your situation.

How it works

  1. Gather the premium, deductible and limit for each policy you are considering.
  2. Estimate a typical claim size and how often you claim, from your own history.
  3. Run the coverage analyzer to rank the offers on expected annual cost.
  4. Use the deductible and out-of-pocket tools to test the structure of the winner.

Frequently asked questions

Is expected annual cost a prediction?

No. Nobody claims 0.2 times in a year. It is a device for putting two different risk-sharing structures onto one comparable scale - the same reasoning an insurer applies when pricing them.

What claim frequency should I enter?

Your own history. Two claims in fifteen years is roughly 0.13. Guessing high favours low-deductible policies and guessing low favours high-deductible ones, so use real numbers.

Can these tools tell me which carrier is best?

No. Claim-handling reputation, exclusions and financial strength are not numbers. Use these tools to shortlist on price and structure, then read the policy wording.

Do you send my figures anywhere?

No. Every calculation runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is transmitted, logged or stored.

Do I need to sign up?

No. There are no accounts on this site and no email is required.
